# Members and deletion (/docs/console/more/workspaces) > For the complete Prisma documentation index, see [llms.txt](https://www.prisma.io/docs/llms.txt). A markdown version of any docs page is available by appending `.md` to its URL. Invite and remove workspace members, hand a workspace to someone else, and delete databases, projects, and workspaces Location: Console > More > Members and deletion This page covers who can access a workspace, how to hand a workspace over to someone else, and how to delete a database, a project, or a whole workspace. You can do all of these yourself in the [Prisma Console](https://console.prisma.io/?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=content\&utm_content=console). To open a workspace's settings, switch to that workspace with the workspace switcher at the top left of the Console, then go to **Workspace Settings**. ## Invite a member [#invite-a-member] 1. Go to **Workspace Settings** > **Members**. 2. Click **Invite member**. 3. Add one or more email addresses, then click **Send Invites**. Each person gets an email invitation. The invitation is valid for 7 days, and it can only be accepted by a Prisma account that signs in with the invited email address. While an invitation is pending, you can resend or revoke it from the same page. ## Remove a member or leave a workspace [#remove-a-member-or-leave-a-workspace] On **Workspace Settings** > **Members**, open the menu at the end of a member's row: * On someone else's row, choose **Remove member**. They lose access to the workspace and its projects straight away. * On your own row, choose **Leave workspace**. You lose access until someone invites you again. Any member can remove any other member, including the person who created the workspace. If you are the last member, leaving deletes the workspace, along with all of its projects, databases, and services. The Console asks you to type the workspace name to confirm, and the same conditions apply as in [Delete a workspace](#delete-a-workspace). ## Hand a workspace to someone else [#hand-a-workspace-to-someone-else] A workspace doesn't have a single owner to transfer. Access comes from membership, so handing a workspace over means adding the new person and then removing yourself: 1. [Invite](#invite-a-member) the new person, and wait for them to accept. 2. Update the billing email under **Workspace Settings** > **Billing** > **Manage billing information**, so invoices and payment emails go to the new person. Removing a member does not change it. 3. [Leave the workspace](#remove-a-member-or-leave-a-workspace), or have the new person remove you. The same steps move a workspace to a different email address of your own: sign up for a new Prisma account with the new email, invite it, and then leave with the old account. To get access to a workspace you are not a member of, such as your company's, ask any current member to invite you. If no member can be reached, for example because they have all left the company, email [support@prisma.io](mailto\:support@prisma.io). For a workspace created through the Vercel Marketplace, the billing email follows your Vercel team's contact, and is changed in Vercel. ## Delete a database [#delete-a-database] 1. Open the database and go to its **Settings** tab. 2. Click **Delete Database** and confirm. Deletion is permanent. To keep a copy of the data, see [Manually creating a backup file via `pg_dump`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/postgres/database/backups#manually-creating-a-backup-file-via-pg_dump) first. You can't delete a project's default database. To delete it, open another database in the same project, turn on **Default database** in its **Settings** tab and save, and then delete the old one. To remove the last database, [delete the project](#delete-a-project) instead. A database created through the Vercel Marketplace is deleted from your Vercel project dashboard, not from the Console. ## Delete a project [#delete-a-project] 1. Open the project and go to its **Settings** tab. 2. Click **Delete Project**, type the project name to confirm, and click **Delete project**. This permanently deletes the project and everything in it, including its databases, branches, deployments, and Compute resources. A project in a workspace managed through the Vercel Marketplace can't be deleted from the Console. ## Delete a workspace [#delete-a-workspace] Go to **Workspace Settings** > **Overview** and click **Delete workspace**. This permanently deletes the workspace with all of its projects and databases. The button is disabled, and shows why, when any of these apply: | Cause | What to do | | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | The workspace is on a paid plan. | [Cancel the paid plan](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing#cancel-a-paid-plan) and wait for the cancellation to take effect at the end of the billing period. | | The workspace has an unpaid invoice. | Pay it. See [If a payment fails](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing#if-a-payment-fails). | | It is the only workspace on your account. | Every account keeps at least one workspace. To remove your last one, [delete your account](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/support#deleting-your-pdp-account). | | The workspace is managed through an integration, such as the Vercel Marketplace. | Remove it from the integration's side. | Deletion also stops if the workspace has active Prisma Compute deployments. Stop and delete them, then try again. ## Next steps [#next-steps] * To cancel or downgrade a paid plan, see [Billing and cancellation](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing). * To delete your Prisma account, see [Deleting your Prisma account](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/support#deleting-your-pdp-account). ## Related pages - [`Billing and cancellation`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing): When Prisma charges a paid plan, how to cancel it, and how to cap usage charges - [`Feature Maturity`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/feature-maturity): Understand Early Access, Preview, and Public Beta feature stages in the Console - [`Support`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/support): Find the right support for any Console question
