Deletion is permanent and can't be undone. Deleting your account also deletes every workspace where you are the only member, along with that workspace's projects and databases. A shared workspace, meaning one with other members, is kept, and you are removed from it. Export any data you want to keep before you start. See [Manually creating a backup file via `pg_dump`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/postgres/database/backups#manually-creating-a-backup-file-via-pg_dump) for how to export a database. To delete your account: 1. Open the [Prisma Console](https://console.prisma.io/?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=content\&utm_content=console), click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, and choose **Account settings**. 2. In the **Delete Account** section, click **Delete Account**. 3. In the **Delete your account** dialog, type `DELETE` in capitals and click **Delete Account**. Console deletes your account and signs you out. ### If deletion is blocked [#if-deletion-is-blocked] Deletion stops if any of the causes below apply, and each message starts with the name of the workspace that causes it. Some workspaces are *managed through an integration*, meaning they were created from the Prisma integration in Vercel or from Stripe Projects. If one of those blocks you, the **Delete Account** button is disabled and shows why. Anything else blocks you after you click **Delete Account**: a dialog lists every reason. Fix each one, then try again. To open a workspace's settings, switch to that workspace with the workspace switcher at the top left of the Console, then go to **Workspace Settings**. | Cause | Message in Console | | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A workspace where you are the only member is managed through an integration. | "Transfer or remove the integration-managed workspace before deleting your account." | | A shared workspace managed through an integration uses your email as its billing email. | "Update the workspace billing email before deleting your account." | | A workspace where you are the only member is on a paid plan. | "Downgrade to the Free plan before deleting your account." | | A workspace where you are the only member has unpaid invoices. | "Please resolve your outstanding balance before deleting your account." | | Accelerate is enabled on a database in a workspace where you are the only member. | "Disable Accelerate on all databases before deleting your account." | | A workspace where you are the only member has Prisma Compute deployments, including stopped ones. | "Stop and delete all compute instances before deleting your account." | | A workspace's GitHub connection was set up under your account, even if you have since left that workspace. | "Ask another admin of that workspace to reconnect GitHub before deleting your account." | How to clear each cause: * **Integration-managed workspace.** Console can't delete a workspace that is managed through an integration. For a workspace created from the Prisma integration in Vercel, uninstall the integration in Vercel. This deletes the Prisma workspace the integration created and all its databases, so export any data you want to keep first. [How do I delete a Prisma Postgres database I created through Vercel?](https://www.prisma.io/docs/postgres/faq#how-do-i-delete-a-prisma-postgres-database-i-created-through-vercel) has the uninstall steps and covers deleting a single database. If you can't transfer or remove it from the integration side, email [support@prisma.io](mailto\:support@prisma.io) with the workspace name. * **Billing email.** You can't change the billing email of an integration-managed workspace in Console. Email [support@prisma.io](mailto\:support@prisma.io) with the workspace name. * **Paid plan.** Go to **Workspace Settings > Billing > Manage subscription**, choose **Free**, and click **Schedule cancellation**. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you can't delete your account until then. When the **Subscription** card on the Billing page says "Your workspace is on the Free plan", the downgrade is done. See [Cancel a paid plan](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing#cancel-a-paid-plan). * **Unpaid invoices.** Click **Pay your outstanding balance** in the banner at the top of the Console to open the unpaid invoice and pay it, or go to **Workspace Settings > Billing** and click **View Invoices**. See [If a payment fails](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing#if-a-payment-fails). * **Accelerate.** In each affected workspace, open the database, click **Accelerate** in its sidebar, open the **Settings** tab, and click **Disable Accelerate**. * **Prisma Compute.** The Console message calls Prisma Compute deployments compute instances. In each project of the affected workspace, under **Apps** in the project sidebar, open the app's **Deployments** page, and from each deployment's actions menu choose **Stop deployment** and then **Destroy deployment**. If a deployment is already stopped, destroy it, because stopped deployments still count. To remove the app and all its deployments at once, choose **Delete app** from the app's menu. * **GitHub.** Ask another admin of that workspace to disconnect and reconnect GitHub, so the connection is no longer recorded under your account. They open **Workspace Settings > Integrations**, choose **Disconnect this installation** from the installation's menu, and connect GitHub again with **Connect your GitHub account** or **Install Prisma on GitHub**. If Accelerate or Prisma Compute is the only thing blocking deletion in a workspace where you are the only member, you can delete that workspace instead. Open **Workspace Settings > Overview**, click **Delete workspace**, and type the workspace name to confirm. You can't delete a workspace this way if it's the only workspace you belong to. You also can't if it's on a paid plan, has unpaid invoices, or is managed through an integration. In those cases, clear the cause as described above. If you can't resolve a blocker from Console, email [support@prisma.io](mailto\:support@prisma.io). ## Related pages - [`Billing and cancellation`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/billing): When Prisma charges a paid plan, how to cancel it, and how to cap usage charges - [`Feature Maturity`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/feature-maturity): Understand Early Access, Preview, and Public Beta feature stages in the Console - [`Members and deletion`](https://www.prisma.io/docs/console/more/workspaces): Invite and remove workspace members, hand a workspace to someone else, and delete databases, projects, and workspaces
